Liaison Program
What is a library liaison?
A library liaison is the designated library representative to a department or program. The liaison communicates with a department about library resources and services and is the main library contact for that department. The liaison program exists to enhance communication between the library and all academic departments and programs within the campus community. Through this liaison program, EKU Libraries hopes to continually improve the resources and services available to EKU faculty, students, and staff.

A liaison may:
  • Provide personalized or group instruction on new tools and techniques
  • Assist in the design of a research assignment
  • Make class or office visits
  • Deliver customized library instruction for classes
  • Help recommend new books and electronic databases
  • Maintain office hours within a department
  • Serve on departmental committees when appropriate
